Design Principles of Carnival Rides

Blue Star Rides
     Carnival rides
are now very popular with kids and adults. In design these rides, what principles do the designers need to grasp?
1. The principle of child-centered. The design should be for the purpose of serving kids. And the design of various activity areas and the rides' layout should be consistent with the physical characteristics of children group and activity intensity. For example, because of the apparent gap between the height of kids and adults, the ride that some adults can easily sit on tends to require more safety measures for kids. Therefore, in the design for children, special attention must be paid to children's experience.
2. The principle of safety. Kids are a vulnerable group and easy to get injury, so in the design of carnival rides must put the safety issue in the first place. The site location of children’s park should be as far as possible away from the roadway and public places where the surrounding environment is more messy and in complex mobility, and it cannot let the children activity site lose contact with the surrounding environment and become visual blind spot to prevent threat from vehicles and crimes. In addition, it should value the safety of the mechanical parts and the detail design. Dangerous projections (such as nails and bolts), squeeze points, sharp edges, sharp corners and possible opening that can get kids' head or fingers stuck should not appear to avoid accidents.
3. The principle of education and recreation together. In consideration of the diversity of kids' activities, the design should incorporate participation, diversity, knowledge and interest in creating a relaxed, natural and functional place for children with certain cultural connotation, so that the environment with "entertaining" has the potential role of making kids learn knowledge and training their emotional intelligence.
